In response to the potential flood situations in Illinois, unless otherwise authorized by law, SUA Insurance Company will withdraw all cancellations or nonrenewal notices issued after June 10, 2008 on any in-force policy and reinstate the policy with no lapse in coverage for any insureds in areas declared to be disaster areas by Governor Rod R. Blagojevich or President George W. Bush (“affected areas”), and will not send any cancellations or nonrenewal notices, unless otherwise authorized by law, to affected policyholders or for affected property until August 18, 2008.
An extension of 60 days, from the last day allowed by contract, unless otherwise authorized by law, will be given to any affected policyholder on all policy provisions requiring a claimant to perform an act within a specified time period, including submission of claims/proof of loss, reporting of information, submission of bills or payment of funds.
In the event repairs on affected property cannot be completed within the time period required under any SUA Insurance Company policy, or within the 90-day time period for repairs prior to termination due to condition of the property, SUA Insurance Company will provide any affected policyholder an extension of not less than 60 days to make such repairs.
To report a claim use the Claims Process Overview listed in this website.
